Free Federal and State Tax Preparation for Chester County Residents

VITA (Volunteer Income Taxpayer Assistance) is a National Program sponsored by the IRS and with a presence in almost every county in South Carolina.

VITA has been available in Chester County since 2015. The Chester County location is sponsored by and hosted at Christ Central Ministries (127 Hudson Street).

Mission & Purpose

Its mission is to help taxpayers in the county, regardless of age or income, complete their Income Tax returns for free by IRS-trained volunteers. They prepare returns and schedules as well as E-file Federal and State returns at no cost to the taxpayer.

Preparation

Taxpayers are to bring all income information, voided check for direct deposit of refunds, social security cards for you, your spouse, and all dependance, proof of identification for yourself and/or spouse.

Schedule & Availability

The VITA site at Christ Central Ministries will be available in 2019 from January 28 through April 15 on the following schedule:

• Mondays: 1:00pm - 5:00pm

• Tuesdays: 1:00pm - 5:00pm

• Wednesdays: 9:00am - 1:00pm
